David Cooper

David Cooper is Manchester Square Partners' resident business psychologist. He is a specialist in the assessment and development of senior executives at times of significant organisational and personal change and works with other members of the Manchester Square Partners team, providing support across the various client offerings. As both a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Psychologist, he is able to draw on, and integrate insights into both the ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ dimensions of business.

David began his career working in the Leeds and Zurich offices of Arthur Andersen, where he reached the position of Vice Director. During his 11 years with Arthur Andersen he built up a broad range of accounting and consulting experience and led a variety of engagements including transaction support, due diligence and risk management projects. He was also closely involved with the development and delivery of a number of Arthur Andersen’s internal training and development programmes and led the ‘Coaching the Partner’ initiative in Switzerland. After leaving Arthur Andersen, he built up his experience of executive assessment and development working with a number of leading business psychology firms in the UK and Europe. In addition to his assessment, coaching and executive development work, David is a published author and an Associate Executive Coach in Executive Education at London Business School.

David has a broad range of extra-curricular interests, including learning the vibraphone and the ukulele and property restoration. He is also conducting research as part of a doctorate in behavioural corporate governance at the University of St Gallen.
