David Mahoney MBE
David acts as a sounding board and advisor to C-Suite leaders in business and sport. He helps them to make important decisions, develop their leadership skills and manage their careers, particularly at critical inflection points.
David has a particular specialism in second in commands (e.g. COO, Chief of Staff, CFO, CTO). His work is often focused on periods of change and transformation, both professional and personal, and helping clients to think through strategy and what it takes to turn that strategy into operational delivery.
David was formerly Chief Operating Officer at the England Wales Cricket Board and was awarded an MBE in 2020 for services to sport. Before that, he worked on media and tech issues for over a decade at Ofcom and in Government and was previously a lawyer.
David is also a Non-Executive at England Netball, the Connection Project and is a Governor of Westminster School. He previously chaired the English Sports Development Trust and was an expert advisor to the Government on the Crouch Review into Football Governance. In his spare time, he is a sports and golf addict and a very amateur photographer. David is an accredited coach.
